Hello everyone, This is an idea I have had, and discussed with Tukin. I would like some feedback and suggestions from other guild members. I was thinking that in order to promote the guild it might be interesting to come up with our own quest for other players to take part in, but one that is temporary and run like a competition. Some kind of storyline would be required, and prizes will need to be made (or harvested) for the competition winners. Perhaps it could be a continuation of one of the games existing quests? Perhaps the quest could be something where as many members of the guild as possible take part in a story (although not in a fixed location like the automated quests in game, just limited to one map, or area of a map, for the duration of the competition so that we can still get our harvesting/fighting/mixing/potioning done!) giving clues to players leading them, in a race, to the final goal. Whatever that may be. I understand that many guild members are rarely online at the same time as some others so it would be necessary to arrange for a suitable time when there are as many(participating) guild members online as possible. So, that is my idea. Any budding storytellers out there with ideas? Any other comments/suggestions? Oh, one other thing. Is it possible that any thread regarding this subject can be made "for guildies eyes only"? I wouldn't want inquisitive people to read the storyline before the event and know what to do! Your comments, storylines and suggestions are appreciated. Cpt_Carrot EDIT: When I said limited to one map, or area of a map, I meant that each participating member is limited to it. Not the entire quest. For example, I could be in MM harvesting mushrooms, someone else in Glacmor, another guildie in the VotD gold mine/store etc. Just thought I would clarify that. |

You mean a sort of adventure that they take part in? Good idea, find a time and if any1 wants to join he could post here. But you're right, storyline should remain hidden. Hey, but should there be a min/max lvl? Flamebow, (or Intoxicated) |

Flamebow, (or Intoxicated) Yes, something for others to take part in. To promote the guild, maybe it could even be used as a recruitment tool? Yes, a min/max level might be a good idea but it would depend on the prizes we chose to give, and the maps they are required to go to. Cpt_Carrot |

How bout in Seridia, white stone? it is a big map map, no heat/cold damage, it is easy to get to... well i guess it depends on the number of participants, online guild members, storyline etc... i guess we should have a plan B. lets say you need 1 skill above 20(what you need to join this guild), so then right after the adventure/quest/fight/battle they could join and not forget about us. |

Okay, here is my idea for a storyline. I think it sucks, so if anyone has a better idea then let's discuss it. I seem to remember that at the end of one of the quests I did, something to do with gnome technology and pirates, Lord Whateverhisnameis of Whitestone left me with nothing more to do, just saying that he might have a job for me soon. (Is there any in game continuation of this?) I was thinking that he has asked SynD members to negotiate with the gnomes for more information about their technologies in order to fight the pirate problem. The gnomes have offered to give this information but require the guild to complete some quests before sharing their technologies, to assist us with this they have given us a new communications technology, but it has broken down and we have all lost touch. The participating guild members will be in various maps on both continents, and despite the failure in communications we are still attempting to complete the gnomes mission. What we need from players is for them to locate the guildies and pass on pre-arranged messages between guildies and perhaps do little quests for us, make an iron bar, 10 FE's etc. in order to get the next message. Once all guild members have been communicated with they will need to return to the original guild member that they spoke to and relay a message, or an item they are given to complete the mission. I think that in addition to pre-arranged messages, the little quests they are required to do to might change or they will be given a password from a written list that guild members have (We can cycle through these). This will hopefully help to prevent cheating by sharing tips in ch7 or via PM's or GM/IG messages. People who give the wrong password with their message more than 3 times is disqualified from the quest. This might be a little complicated but as before, let's discuss ideas, and work them out between us. Cpt_Carrot. |

The story's not bad, password idea is good. I think the communication thing is kinda... weird. How bout some pirate (they're supposed to be our ennemies, right?) keeps intercepting written messages by messengers and destroying them, but it dosn't work with the gnome idea. How bout humans, they couls give us money if we deal with the piartes, how's that? . So we have to send messages with normal players. What do you think about min. lvl 20 in any skill max 60 overall lvl. Flamebow(in game name) |

Flamebow(in game name) Sure thing, the story was just a rough idea to get things started. Any idea will do if it helps a story develop into something we can use. As for the levels I agree it should be set to a minimum guild entry level, not sure about the level cap though. I guess it depends on what prizes we offer. I can't make much more than iron swords at the moment and haven't even started on rings/meds yet, but if someone here is capable of making good items then I am happy to harvest what is needed. Well I certainly won't be making it anytime soon then! The cost is not so much of an issue. I can certainly harvest plenty and with the assistance of other guild members it should be possible to do this pretty quickly. Any other guild members interested, or have suggestions?? Cpt_Carrot |
